What it does

One place for the whole life of a contract

Most contracts are lost twice: once in an inbox while they are negotiated, and again in a folder when they quietly renew. Contracts keeps both halves in one record.

  • Templates with merge fields

Write your NDA or services agreement once, section by section. Party names, GSTINs, dates and value fill themselves in.

  • A clause library with fallbacks

Insert pre-approved language, keep the fallback you would accept, and see a flag the moment an inserted clause is edited.

  • Approval workflows

Route by value or contract type through ordered stages - any one approver, or all of them. A rejection goes back with its reason.

  • Negotiation on a protected link

The other side comments, suggests wording or uploads a redline behind an email code and an optional password. You accept each change.

  • E-signature with an audit trail

Signing order, email one-time code, typed or drawn signatures, reminders, and a certificate of completion with the document hash.

  • Obligations after signing

What each side owes, with owners, recurrence and reminders before every due date - and an overdue flag until it is done.

  • Renewals you see coming

Expiry and notice-deadline alerts, auto-renewals, and renewal, amendment and termination letters linked to the original.

  • Dashboard and reports

Active value, what is expiring, what is stuck, cycle time per stage and signature turnaround - each one a CSV.

  • AI review

A summary and the key terms of any contract - parties, dates, value, renewal, liability - as suggestions you check and apply.

Bring their paper: upload a PDF or DOCX and track it like anything drafted here.

Counterparties with GSTIN, address and signatories - and their whole contract history.

Confidential contracts only their owner and named collaborators can open.

How it works

Five steps, one record

A contract moves through one status machine, so the next step is always the obvious button - and nothing skips a step it should not.

  1. 1

    Draft

From a template, a blank page or their paper. Every change autosaves; a version freezes at every hand-off.

  2. 2

    Approve

The workflow that matches its value and type routes it, stage by stage, to the people who decide.

  3. 3

    Negotiate

Share a link, take their suggestions section by section, and compare any two versions word by word.

  4. 4

    Sign

Both sides sign in order with an email code. Completion freezes the hash and issues the certificate.

  5. 5

    Manage

Obligations, reminders, renewal alerts and the notice deadline - until it is renewed, amended or ended.

Questions

What people ask before they start

  • Is the e-signature legally valid?

Contracts uses an electronic signature verified by an email one-time code: each signer opens a one-time link, confirms a code sent to their email, ticks a consent statement and types or draws their signature. Every view, code and signature is recorded with its time, IP address and device, the signed document's SHA-256 hash is frozen, and a certificate of completion is issued. That is an electronic record of agreement under section 10A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, which is what most commercial contracts need. It is not Aadhaar eSign: documents the law requires to be signed with an Aadhaar or DSC-based signature, and stamp duty, are outside it today. Aadhaar eSign and e-stamping are on the way.

  • Do I need a CosmoOps account?

Yes, and that is the whole of the sign-up. Contracts has no accounts of its own: your workspace, the people in it and what each may do are the ones you hold in CosmoOps Connect. Counterparties never need an account - they negotiate and sign from a link.

  • Can the other side edit the contract?

They can suggest. A negotiation link (Growth and Scale) lets a counterparty comment on a section, propose new wording, upload their own redline or accept the draft - behind an email code and, if you like, a password. You accept or reject each suggestion, and every accepted change is a new version you can compare.

  • Can I bring contracts we have already signed?

Yes - upload the PDF or DOCX as third-party paper and record its parties, value, dates and renewal terms. From then on it gets the same renewal alerts and obligation tracking as anything drafted here. There is no bulk import yet; each is added one at a time.

  • What does it cost, and where do I pay?

Free covers a small team's first ten contracts. Growth and Scale are monthly or annual, and the prices on the plans page are in rupees before GST. Payment itself happens in CosmoOps Connect, which holds the card, the GST invoices and the subscription for every application you use.

  • Whose data is it, and where is it kept?

Yours. Contracts, counterparties and documents are stored in India, in a database used by this application alone, and handled under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Signed documents and their audit trail are never edited after the fact - that is what makes them evidence.
